It may be cold outside, but SLC is heating up with entertainment and Christmas activities. Here’s a special mid-week issue of Around the SL,UT.
For laughs, head to Club DJ’s Thursday night for K-Town Comedy with Blake Bard. Pennies are tight this time of year, so what better way to enjoy a night out than seeing a great lineup of comedy for only $3. Show is Thursday, December 8, 8pm.
Of course, you can also enjoy the comedy stylings of Guy Seidel at Haha Holiday Fundraiser and Comedy, a show devoted to kids in need. Come enjoy a night of laughter dedicated to helping families have a very merry Christmas. $5 admission goes entirely to the families, $1 raffle tickets for prizes, and donations are highly encouraged. Let’s fill a truckload of gifts for the kids. The show is Thursday, December 8, 7pm at Wiseguys Trolley Square.
Travel back in time at the Dickens Festival at the State Fairgrounds this weekend and next. December 8-10, and 15-17 the festival is open from 10am-10pm. Performing arts, gift boutiques, and one of the best venues to get the kids in front of Santa Claus. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for kids (save $1 purchasing online).
Plan to spend Friday at the KRCL Polar Jubilee. It’s their annual winter fundraiser, with one of the seasons most exciting lineups of entertainment. This rock-n-roll circus features arial acrobats, Rolling Stones and David Bowie tribute bands, Bad Brad Wheeler’s Hanukkah Harmonica Army, and more. Tickets are $30, all ages welcome, and the party takes place at the Salt Lake Hardware Building (105 north 400 west).
Stay tuned for more updates on things to do Around the SL,UT. Coming in the next issue: movie sing-alongs, People’s Market & Craft Sabbath, and a haunted Christmas? Yes, it’s happening, and you can learn about it here.
